Interesting that the consensus seems to be everyone would take Carroll, but the board seems quite divided about Fletcher. Yet I don't think one can say with conviction that Andy Carroll is actually better than Steven Fletcher!

Fletcher plays for lowly Wolves so is not good enough for us according to the experts on here, whereas Carroll plays for the mighty Liverpool so would be accepted. It doesn't matter that Fletcher has the better goalscoring record. ;)

Either of them would massively improve our team.

we need AT LEAST 2 proper strikers in. i'd be very happy if fletcher was one of them.

carroll would just bring more of an edge and stir things up a bit. sometimes you need to shake the tree to make things happen. it'd be one of our most controversial signings ever but the hype and publicity would get everyone up for it.

i don't think you could put it much better than that. at the moment we just don't have a forward line.

aside from forwards we also need a "marquee" signing. a player to get everyone excited, create a buzz and sell extra season tickets. apart from the football side this is a business and we need at least one signing who will bring some hype to the club. ive no doubts at all that carroll would do that and get EVERYONE talking about us.

politics aside he's far from shit and when he gets back on full form he's a right handful.

he does have greasy hair though and that could stop a deal long before fees and wages. if he's got split ends or his roots are showing he'd fail the medical anyway.
