any new sunderland fans should be forced to watch that clip before they're allowed into the ground.

do yourself and everyone a favour, put this clip at the start of a new thread. it deserves a place of its own.

    looked like they'd been detonated!!

real football and real away support. makes the hairs on the back of your neck stand up if you were there. that was a standard league game for a team in the bottom three....not a championship decider, push for europe or last game of season dogfight. any fans wanting to argue about sunderland's away support back in the day should be pointed to that clip to save time.

it'd be a crying shame if this clip was lost in the archives again.

Loved going to Leeds, always loads of edge to the games, on and off the pitch. First visit there was the 77 easter game. Lad on our bus called Sid was a bit of a hippy, long greasy hair, scruffy denim jacket type. Anyway, he won a bottle of vodka in a raffle, but the polis at the turnstiles wouldn't let him take it in. Not a problem for Sidney, he just walked away and necked it, before returning to the queue. Half an hour into the game, we saw him carried out on a stretcher. Never seen the long haired fucker since.

Cheers fellas – that’s 3 of us enjoyed it anyway

I could start a new thread specifically for that YouTube link – although I suspect the mods would shift it straight onto the YT forum, which is what they did when I started a thread on here with a YT link to SAFC v Stoke from 82...

Anyway, been looking for any memories from Leeds fans of games against us 70s-80s but this is all I could find (which is just a few brief memories from Leeds fans of Sunderland home and away back then):

I've just had a search for that and like your comment

Classic footage of SAFC at Roker in the early 80s and the only footage available of a game played while the Roker End was closed - and this thread had had 150 views.

Meanwhile, a thread about what's on the back of an NUFC player's shirt has had well over 3,000 views.

Is it just me thinks that it should be the other way around?
