Its absolute bollocks to say he's shown "little improvement".
Transfer fee's are over inflated however if he'd shown little improvement his transfer fees wouldn't be as high as they are.

Of course Carroll showed improvement, he went from a Championship centre forward to scoring goals in the top flight. Wickhams is a one off move he's obvioulsy shown improvemnet in his game to attract a fee of £8mil+, Milner has moved 3 times each time for an increased transfer fee. That doesn't happen if he's showing little improvement from his time at Leeds.
