    Default New friendly

In my local paper they are saying that Burnham are playing Sunderland on Thursday 19th July.

For those of you who havven't heard of Burnham, they play in the Southern League Central Division (3 leagues below the Conference). Burnham is a suburb of Slough, and not to be confused with Burnham on Sea in Essex.

My guess is that the game will be our reserve side tbh as the first team play in South Korea a couple of days later.

MON has probably done them a favour as he has a house just a few miles from there and maybe knows someone at Burnham FC.

Why do the press hear first. The Korean press had it about the peace cup months before safc announced it.

    Dunno, but not good...

Burnham also has quite a few pubs for a small village, should be good to see the ressies and up and coming youngsters mixed with a few pints

Cos it takes 2 to arrange a friendly. Our club is likely to wait until absolutely everything is sorted and finalised before releasing any info whereas the officials of a club like Burnham or a South Korean club are likely to get all excited and bragging about a friendly with a Premiership club just as soon as they get a yes over the phone.

    I do get your point.
But it's over a week old on here anyway.
    http://www.readytogo.net/smb/showthr...hlight=burnham

As it happens, the club only announced Korea, after somebody contacted them, asking if the stoty in the papers over there was true.
    Fucking sad, TBH.
No interest in keeping the fans up to date.

I'm sure there's at least one more 1st team came tba. They should get there arses into gear if there is.

    Nah.
Somebody announced the friendly against Hannover last season on here, TWO WEEKS before SAFC announced it.

They had seen it on fucking www.soccerway.com of all places. And then checked the Hannover official website, where it was also confirmed.
SAFC trailed in 2 weeks later. (Officially).

    03:53 PM..

I know what you mean, but not sure I fully agree with that point.

Remember the shambles of communication about the 3 games in Germany last summer? We all knew about them long before they were confirmed.

Incidentally Burnham are playing Swindon a couple of weeks after us...

Sorry about SEB from above, did not see that post last week

The Crispin is now "The Bee", has been for a few years.

The Garibaldi and Red Lion are still there plus the Swan and the Five Bells. Plus the Britsih Legion is still there, so there are 6 pubs within less than a mile of Burnham FC.

If you mean the George from Farnham Road, that went 10+ years ago, now an Aldi supermarket. Not sure about the Brickmakers, but if you mean the Brikckmould that has gone now as well
