    Default Seb Larsson

A player who seems to be dividing ALOT of opinion on here of late

Personally I thought the lad had a cracking season, 8 goals from a midfield position (something WE havent had for a long time at the top level, before some clowns eyelash says Gardner scored 10 for Birmingham), excellent set pieces including 3 awesome goals directly from free kicks in the prem, again, something we didnt previously have.

Also worked his nuts off as a team player and gave good protection to his fullback

Will be an important member of the squad again imo next year whether people like him or not, so get used to it

Blows hot and cold for me. Cracking first half of the season. Tailed off badly towards the end. Except for City away.

    From your point of view...

Did it require another thread started?

Carrying a hernia may explain the dip in performance?

I've no qualms about him being a squad player next season, but he really didn't impress me from open play at all last season and his set pieces suffered an alarming dip in quality from around New Year onwards. Two assists all season for someone who took 85% of our set pieces is shocking, if we're going to be honest.

He works his bollocks off, of that there is no doubt but defensively he's awful, commits far too easily and is almost always beaten for pace by the winger/fullback.

If we could get a more offensive minded fullback in to help him deliver some telling crosses from open play then we may see the best of him, but while the likes of O'Shea and Bardsley are behind him Larsson is little more than a passenger in open play.

A handy squad player, but not much more than that in my opinion.

    This

The lad played through the pain barrier on more than one occassion last season and even played against City (h) when he was dead on his feet, had spent the previous 2 days or so bed-ridden, we all remember him collapsing on the pitch at the end before Ji's goal. He had a cracking game in CM that day btw

One of our main contributors last season and he's getting big stick on here. This place

Do you feel that you wouldn't have been able to put your point across on the other thread?

    Which was divided on opinion...
