Looks like a top player and would be a better signing than Fletcher. Persoanlly I think we should be in for both.
You have never seen him play.

And if you have it would have been a handful of times, or less, against awful opposition.

Running for chairman of the Fancy Name Brigade?

    same was said about cisse.

its all darrent bent can do.

worth their weight in goals, especially to a team that can't finish from positions where its harder to miss than score.

For every papiss cisse there are a lot more Afonso alves'.

We aren't in a position to be taking risks on players from a much lower quality of league. We have NO prolific or 10 goal strikers in our team ATM and we should be scouring the top leagues of Europe (England, Spain. Italy) for proven class.

At 7 million quid + a hefty contract over x amount of years + agents fees etc., I wouldn't touch him with a bargepole.

The Dutch league is an awful standard and few who come over here for large fees make the same impact they did in the Eredivisie: Samaras, Ruiz (so far), Alves to name a few. Far, far too much money to just 'take a punt' as the morons on here would love us to.

i agree in principle but for 7million we'd be stupid not to as he's scored at international level for the dutch. to even get in the dutch u21's you need to be half decent footballer.

if the figure it closer to say 15million which i think it would be, then i'd agree that with that 15million we'd be better off signing a couple of proven strikers in perhaps their last 2-3 yrs of useful career, and hope in that 2-3 yrs Ji, Wickham, Campbell can come good. or we pick up someone else.

Don't have the funds to do the latter I'm afraid.

Name someone of proven class from those 3 leagues we could realistically sign?

That's way too much money to just go pissing up the wall on totally unproven players. We need to learn from our recent mistakes, ones that people are still moaning about and yet pining for more and more money to be spent on untested footballers.
