Of course we would, and it's the sort of money we got for Henderson who is not as good in the middle as Jack is.

Even for Henderson money I wouldn't be tempted, he's far and away the best central midfielder we have at the moment.

It's not the sort of thing they've done before, Fergie likes to have his young players playing in the first team squad consistently. Jones and Smalling were signed last year and both had big roles to play this season.

His goal at Boro away in the cup was top class, I'm just not sure he's going to be given an attacking midfield role at Sunderland. Who knows.

Re: Colback attracting interest from champions league club, according to an agent
id have guessed at Man Utd.
We need to keep players if we are going to get anywhere, im reading Richardson going @ £4.5m, hes what 27, next 4 years will be the best of his career, we are not going to get any English player the quality of him or as versatile for anywhere near 4.5m quid.
Squad is thin, two who need to be kept are Colback & Richardson imo.

There are bargains to be had abroad that would improve the team, the mags have proven that by signing Cabaye and Tiote for pittance.

Doesn't exactly say much when his competition is the likes of Gardner and Vaughan.
I'd bite any team's hand off if they offered anything upwards of £8m.

And so would the decision makers at SAFC, imo. If we receive big money offers for players that we've brought through the academy then we aren't in a position to just brush them off, especially when we haven't got a massive transfer budget to strengthen with.

Re-invest in what? A young, talented midfielder who is a decent ball-winner, calm in possession and can pass the ball - with the potential for adding goals to his game when he grows in confidence? I think what you mean to say is that we need to keep Jack Colback.
