But if we can't and circumstances meant we couldn't sign a replacement I'd go for a pacy right winger and try Larsson in the Sess role. We can't afford to lose his goal potential and workrate in midfield. I do accept that wide midfield is his best position though.

    Another basically negative-themed post.

Larsson does not have the pace for the wide midfield role never mind the sess role. If sess does go, it will enable us to play a different formation.

buy a good striker, buy a good keeper - both essential to MON's aims. Other improvements are virtually pointless if we don't address these basics.

Square pegs in round holes mate. He can't beat a man so he can't play the "Sess role". If Seb was replaced with (for the sake of argument) Aiden McGeady you still get the goals, probably even more assists BUT the added dimension of a player who can beat a man on the outside, come inside, switch wings comfortably and also run through the middle.

The only role i could envisage Larsson playing would be to the right of a THREE man midfield playing behind a solitary striker (perhaps in away games).....and being used as cover and an impact sub. This type of line-up perhaps...

    ......................... .........Agbonlahor...... ......................... .....

    McClean...........Colback ......Milner......Larsson ..........McGeady....

Milner would be a fantastic signing for us....in his last season under O'Neill he was played in central midfield.....he played 46 games that season scoring 11 goals and getting a whopping 15 assists.
