He's decent, but people go way overboard about him. We'll sign him or we won't. Either way my reaction will be "meh".

Tbh Fletcher would be perfect for us and I couldn't see a team better than us being in for him at the moment, for a few reasons. I very much doubt he'd turn us down.

Whilst I'd agree that he is unlikely to get a better offer than one from SAFC, I'm not sure I'd say that he's 'perfect' for us Perry. He's a decent option and looks to be solid in most areas. However, he presents no obvious threat in behind a defence. That would mean playing up to him and hoping runners can join him. He also doesn't have much of a record of scoring goals from nothing meaning that in games where our creative types are struggling to get a foothold he won't provide much for defences to worry about.

Personally I'd prefer someone with a bit more pace and power leading our line to help broaden the range of our counter attacking game. I can't help but think that £10m spent abroad could get us a better striker than Fletcher. He's not the worst option by a long way but he most certainly isn't the best.
