    Default McGeady, Adam Johnson ...

... what other good wingers (haven't seen much of McGeady but I hear he's decent and can beat a fullback) can we realistically have a shot at? (If Johnson is 'realistic' considering his wages)

I like Seb Larsson but I do like to have two wingers on the pitch with pace and some trickery, capable of beating their man. Our Beckham Light doesn't have this ability. I don't know but perhaps, just perhaps he can play alongside Jack at CM?

He has played a bit at CM earlier after all, although I'm a bit sceptical he could make that position his own ... but, he's got a pretty good work rate, decent back-tracking and can put a decent tackle or two in. Add a pretty good passing game and, well... perhaps? Could probably do with a bigger player alongside Jack though.

Nee chance of signing AJ mind, as you have mentioned his wages will prevent it happening.

may be wrong but i doubt we could afford either.i think getting either one of those would blow the majority of any transfer budget MON will get.i'm sure people on here think MON is going to get £30-£40 mill or something daft like that.it aint going to happen.

I'd love to get AJ. Either on loan (with City chipping in for some of his wages) or as an outright buy (sure he'd take a pay cut to get first team PL footie). He's the sort of player we need to push on. He creates chances and scores goals!

EDIT: don't think we'll get him though
