only been driving 3 years so never had any kind of incident with the police. It wouldn't surprise me if i did though, i accelerate to the speed limit as fast as possible but stay there so i'm fully expecting a pull over soon. Not arsed though as i never drink drive won't even have a half if i'm driving.

Had been passed a month and was on the back roads between Haswell and Hetton...bends and turns etc...saw the lights but thought "he'll never pass me on a blind bend" so sped up and went all the way to Hetton...found a safe place for him to pass n he pulled in behind me...shat mesel but only ended up with a few serious words once I explained why it looked like I was doing a bunk!

Save your self a fortune if you chill out abit and not rake through the gears. Seriously, you'll add 40-50 miles to a full tank.

    Neither have I.
My son worked as a barman when he was at Uni & got stopped all the time coming home. Police assume if you are on the road after closing time you are pissed & they want you. You & your lass should try driving after 11pm & see then if your never been pulled stat lasts.
It's worth mentioning that when the police stopped him & realised that he hadn't been drinking they usually got a bit ratty & gave his car a good looking over. Well, they had to get him for something otherwise it looks bad on the statistics.

Been pulled a handful of times as I used to drive late at night. First two happened in the space of about 4 days.

First time I deserved to be stopped but was let away with a friendly warning.

Second time I saw him follow me for a couple of miles before stopping me - was on the lookout after my first ever stop.

"Do you know why I've stopped you?"
    - "Because I'm 23 and I'm driving after midnight?"
"No, you clipped a white line back there."
    - "No I didn't, I've watched you follow me all the way out of the city centre and made sure I didn't do anything you could pull me for."
    "Got any ID?"
*I hand over my passport, he walks away and "runs a check", comes back and returns it*
    "Have you been drinking tonight?"
    - "No."
"You don't smell like you've been drinking..."
    - "...that makes sense."
    "Where were you born?"
    - "What?"
    "Where were you born?"
    - "You can't ask me that."
"Do you fancy a night in the station? WHERE WERE YOU BORN?"
    - "Are you really going to try to catch me out on my own passport? What's your badge number?"

He just walked over to his car and fucked off. Bizarre.

What for? There's no law on acceleration.

I recently bombed past a copper but stopped at 70mph. When he caught up at the lights he ticked me off. Told him I didn't exceed any limit..I guess I questioned his authority.

aye, i should like you're right mate, but i do like the little bit thrust it gives, never go over the limit, and the poster above, you are right too mate, it'll take one little swerve just a little out of line and then the flash comes think i will take it easy since the missus just got a letter about speeding so the reg is probably marked

If you screech your tires then they can pull you for reckless driving, but they cant for accelerating
