    Mine is the same mate, some Sunderland fans of a certain age will only revel in misery surrounding the club, they cannot accept any positives.

    I'd love to keep him but 15 million would be a positive too, perhaps more so. I don't want us to lose good players but we have to be realistic and pragmatic about these things. If I'm honest I thought he was a bit younger and realising he is nearly 28 has swung it for me.

    he could have 6 or 7 seasons left. but, aye, 28 means he's practically finished

    Not saying he's finished but his value is only going 1 way from that sort of age, football is a business after all and a club like us need to buy low and sell high no matter how deluded our fans get about the sort of club we are.
