I'd probably keep Colback and Cattermole, make Gardner more regular at right back and that probably leaves no room for Vaughan. Need something more in midfield but god knows who. I think we have lacked a bit of an imposing figure at times.

On Saturday Colback outperformed Cattermole IMO.

I thought he would have been on his way to be honest, overshadowed by Henderson, didn't seem to pull up trees at Ipswich, got sent off for us. Been excellent for us this season though, just a matter of time before he gets recognition

I was massive doubter of his but he is fast become one of my favourite players at the club rarely puts a foot wrong wonder how he'd do if he was given a bit more of a free role leaving catts to do the dog work

My Player of the season by a mile, he's been fantastic.

So pleased we have him instead of Henderson.

He's going to be a top premier league player if he carries on at his current workrate

Me too. He seems to have such a quick thinking brain and is tenacious as fuck. He is far far better than Henderson who cost 18m and incredibly got called up for England when he offers very little.

Would prefer it if we had him as well as Henderson*. Its great getting your own lads in as first team regulars. We need to keep them at the club once they have made it though.

*although the money offered was mental

He can work on this weakness with training, but he's never going to be speedy Gonzales MkII. If I was him I'd be working to improve my stamina to build on the strength already there.
    b. Nobody has mentioned that he is still getting knocked off the ball too easily. I hope he doesn't bulk up because that will affect his fitness and make him even slower. I think he has a good brain on him and will realise that more guile is the way to go here. That can only come with experience.
    3) Very one-footed. Needs to work on his right foot.

Yes that's true but their role in the team is similar. To accommodate them both we need to be playing 4-2-3-1 with Cattermole the rear and Colback the forward member of the "2". If our system called for one or the other I'd unhesitatingly go for Colback simply because he has a more modern approach and is better going forward.

its a very english thing to want every midfielder to score goals, Scott Parker doesnt and i think Colback while not as good as Parker does a similar job, finds players with a pass and does the solid work no one really appreciates, not the most spectacular footballer but he has done superbly this season and does it very well.

Hes more of a holding midfielder for me, bringing others into the game and retaining possesion, again nowhere near the standard of but he does remind me a bit of Makelele in how he distributes the ball.
