Default Who's better than - Owen or Phillips?

What that shitehawk Toontumaz or whatever was wittering on about.

Phillips all day - Still scoring long range beauties and getting 15+ goals a season at the age of 38. I thought Owen had retired, whats he done for the last 3 years?

Still the only Englishman to win the European Golden Boot

Aye 16 goals this season in 19 games. Most as a sub as well, brilliant.

Owen has fashioned himself the better career off the back of one World Cup goal & where he came through (ie Liverpool) meaning he had everything handed to him on a plate from the very start.

Phillips made his way up from non league and had to work to get everything that came his way. He is undoubtedly one of the most underrated players of the last 20/30 years & is stiil doing now what he was doing 20 years ago.

If Owen had half of Phillips' desire, he would have been the player he should have been.

I have to agree with this. If Owen didn't bother with Real and then get his knee injury I think he would be playing far more now than he is and scoring plenty more too.

Mind, these are ifs and buts and the reality is that Owen will probably never start more than another 5 Premier League games in his career. I wouldn't rule out SKP getting another 5 (all depends on if Blackpool manage to get up mind).

Pretty much this. Michael Owen should hand obliterated Bobby Charltons England goal scoring record.
