I like Frasier and The King of Queens too, but never had a chance to really watch 'em in any kind of order - just the odd episode.

The War at Home was canny I thought but it got cancelled after a couple of series, but then again it probably didn't have the legs for a much longer run.

Only ever seen a few Seinfield episodes and couldn't be arsed with the people in it. Never seen MASH (seen the film, was alright). Don't like Scrubs. Can't get away with How I Met Your Mother - it's too Friends-like, and I can't take Barney seriously as a womaniser when he's clearly gay.

Just remembered My Name Is Earl - quality as well.

There's two versions if you ever get the incling. Do not watch the one with the canned laughter, it's bloody awful. The same episodes without it are heartbreakingly funny and heartbreakinly sad at the same time. Brilliant.

This. Prefer the earlier Col. Blake/ Trapper John era too.

The vast majority of new US sitcoms (particularly those shown on E4/Channel 4) are influenced by Friends. It signalled a move away from the usual family and/or workplace based sitcom to, well, group of friends based sitcoms.

30 Rock, Modern Family and The Big Bang Theory must be the best around at the moment
