HMV will be next, outdated business model, you can buy cheaper online, no farting about getting into town etc. Physical media is on a rapid decline.

On a large scale level, yes (with the big chain book shops to follow the music shops and game shops). Independent shops which cater for specific audiences and know their customers well can still survive (certainly in music and books).

The thing is I like having a box set of DVD's on my shelf and am not a massive fan of digital downloads I still buy cd's instead of going on Itunes.

Unhappy they've went under, as they've cost me a job.

Happy they've went under as they were rip-off merchants. Long live Amazon, Play ect.

Like Waterstones, canny for a browse at lunchtime. Would be happy to pay a quid or two more. Twice the price? No thanks.

Im the same mate, but its the next step in how the big wigs can charge the same for a game/cd/dvd but completely drop the manefacturing and logistical costs, additionally it wipes out a massive portion of the piracy as they will control the methods its distributed.

Microsoft now actually charge MORE for a product now if you want media, others will follow.
