nah after a few at your age I would feel the same, the only thing to change your feelings is age and maturity, some get it at a young age, I never did, I grew up late ( some say never at all) if its any consolation when I was younger I got home sick for Peterlee.

Greeds is right Austins great but so is San Antonio, and Houston downtown since 2006 has got a pedestrian , and live music nightlife.
This is the thing,95% chance wed move there without jobs so it would be a fairly big risk.I was a trader for quite a few years and would be drawn to NYC but realistically people with my experience are ten a penny.

Bank of America are headquartered in Charlotte,I've always fancied the south so it seems a possible compromise. Really I'm getting to the stage where a normal, decent job would be fine for the right standard of living and somewhere like Houston or similar would provide that.

What is really driving me to look to move are the lack of opportunities in the City and the idea of a more meritocratic society.Where you actually get back something equivalent to that which you put in and being treated with a bit of respect would be nice too. That's the American dream anyway and if it's alive anywhere the stats suggest it's Texas(or North Dakota, but fuck that).

Nothing at all the matter with missing your family or sunderland. In a fashion you have answered your original post yourself. Keep your chin up. Manchester is a great place to be and I'd rather be in your shoes down there than in dirty darlo.
Chin up Marra there's always a double bed for you and Pilates class with AJ. Things are in the up.

Bloody hell mate you don't have to come back every week. Do more things in Manchester get out and about there's about a million things to do there that you can't in Sunderland.

Invesco (Used to be AIM Investments) are in Houston

Chase Morgan Stanley have a presence but I don't think its trader related. I'm not sure but I think Invesco might have a presence in Atlanta as well

    http://www.invesco.com/portal/site/global

    http://investing.businessweek.com/re...vcapId=8081798

You would dedfinitely make money and have the respect aspect, and athe income to achieve a high standard of living in TX or the south.

This (arrow up thingys) My daughter (nee chance) lives in Oldham and I enjoy going into Manchester with her when I am back. I like the place. You are lucky with a wife and child and working close to a large metropolitan area, enjoy your youth young man.
