    I think High Force is the highest single 'drop' of any waterfall in England, and it is a canny sight. But my favourite local-ish one is up Alston way, near a village called Garigill, called Ash Gill Falls.

    It's not a huge drop (but quite respectable), and you can walk behind the cascade. Because it's off the beaten track you can camp there as well - or at least you could in the eighties, when we used to have some fun weekends in the mushroom season.
