After all these years still can't make my mind up about him, his writing for Blackadder with Richard Curtis has to be applauded, however some of his books have been hitty missy.

His stand up was just too political or pseudo intellectual for me, his rant about Dantes inferno was a little funny but not to the point I wouldwant to watch it again.

Having just read Past Mortem all I can say is , wtf? its starts out as a murder enquiry and in the middle is a full descriptive sexual deviated episdode that would be appreciated by the S & M appreciation society. Fisting, urinating and a new term I have never heard of in my life about sucking it from.......... and then spitting it back into....

He wrote some great stuff Blackadder, Young Ones etc but I think he is a twat.
It was a proud moment when I was a place above him and one behind Roger's Profanasourus in the Humour section of the Amazon bestseller list.
I don't know whether that officially makes me funnier than him.

Really like him me, wrote some superb stuff with Blackadder, Young ones, even think the Thin blue line is canny myself in a BBC 1 type of non offense humor type of way

Got a couple of his old stand up videos from the 90's which are absolutely superb imo, one called 'Tour de force' possibly best stand up routine I have seen
