As in the case stated above the chimp was able to communicate with the people who were experimenting on it.
What about breeding humans for that reason then?

As they use our same dna make up. Don't forget when a chemical has a reaction to them doesn't mean it would do the same to us.

Imagine actually trying to push through the legislation to make that happen and imagine how much more science would cost if you had to raise humans instead of mice...

Humans are a terrible model animal anyway. Genetics are far too complicated and the amount of time between generations is much too long.

I accept it is a necessary evil but it is incredibly upsetting.

Can't we do testing on nonces and Tories instead?
how about doing it on neurotic dorises ?

we could learn so much about when to go shopping or watch tv and such

The genetics aren't really that much more complicated than that of a mouse. Their genome in terms of base pair number is roughly similar in size to the human genome, as is the number of genes. It's just more complicated to manipulate human genetics, largely due to it being unacceptable societally. Mice, on the other hand, there are loads of mutant lines available as models of obesity, diabetes, regeneration etc'

You're right about generation time though.

Which other species have not developed like? Every species you see today has developed and the only reason they exist is because they have been successful enough to breed over successive generations. In terms of evolutionary success insects are far more successful than we are. They've been around millions of years longer and they will absolutely certainly outlive us. Evolution doesn't have an end goal. We may have huge brains and be clever enough to walk on the moon. That doesn't stop us destroying our environment and ultimately ourselves. Pretty poor effort in my book like.
