The line IS drawn with primates - lots of Pharma have signed up to not use Chimps for example.

Technically the same as some rodent.
You can not use prisoners, orphans, inmates of an asylum or any other "Vunerable" (This can be interpreted very widely to mean very poor, illiterate etc) ill type for clinical trials - totally against the Helsinki Convention and GCP (Good Clinical Practice)

    a necessary evil..

computer modelling can only go so far.

I'm all for some criminals negotiating to take part in clinical trials for a reduction in sentance mind..

forcing the closure of tightly regualted labs will just force them to far less regaulted labs abroad

it would be a total home goal on behalf of the activists

As I said you can not use prisoners - just not allowed even if they are compis menti and know exactly what they are doing it is not allowed and the data is useless.

Would not move to unregulated labs at all - just to labs outside where animal activists have no reach.

Since animals provide much of the pre-clinical bases for drug development, it would still be an absurd proposition to do away with animal studies and expect the 'replacement' of forced human testing in clinical trials to do anything other than absolutely ruin medical science as an endeavour.

    The fucking idiots.

Agreed (aside from the spelling, of ocurse).

Edit: Didn't notice the prisoner bit - disagree with that.

Of course for every animal a stinker could volunteer to take its place, that's if they love the animals that much.
Humans come first, it's just part of the evolutionary chain, and if you're willing to try and break that chain then i'm sure a dog will think of you as a martyr while it licks its balls and then shits on your grave.
Bongo is Wrong. As ever. Evolution is not a 'chain', or a 'ladder'.
