they had proper classic gaming nerd staff. they imported me a pokemon gold from japan when I was about 14. they always knew what they were on about and this was before the standard £40 per new release shite we get now.

when i was in college we used to be in the one in sunderland all the time, the bloke who ran it James was absolutely top quality, used to let us play the games on the telly and when new console came out let us see how it worked the pros and cons of it and always gave us a discount when we bought something.

Wanted to go back to an IT job so closed the franchise, always loved the shop like and i was gutted when it finally shut.

Used to go in sometimes after school, was a great store. You don't get service like that anymore. When did it shut down ? I think I was still in secondary school when it closed.

was my last year in college so about 2007 maybe 2008 definitely

There was a Chips still in Boro last time I was there iirc, think that was 2009. Haven't a clue if it's still there now

Nah, that ones shut now, it wasn't doing too well and the rent was increased on the building so they closed it.

My mate runs the one in Consett but he says its not doing too good either. Very rare to find new releases when I pop in, they order pre orders for you but they cost £10 more than online. He was telling me that they order games from Amazon/play.com etc, get them delivered to the store and stick a tenner on the price they paid

Used to work for James, who had the C-l-S and Consett stores.

Chester was massively struggling over the last year or so.

Its still there. Theres still a massive GTA 4 poster on the front of it I think
