Default FA call for goal-line technology

from @SkySportsMobile Sky Sports Mobile twitter
FA statement: #BWFC #QPR The Football Association issue a statement calling for goal-line technology to be introduced "as soon as possible"

Still doubt anything will happen, and seems an unusually quick response to the qpr incident

You have to laugh. Cries for technology for incidents that can't happen more than once every few thousand games. Offside, hand ball, diving and sending off offenses, seen in every game? The same incompetent pair of human eyes will do!

And even if the FA get their wish it will only help in situations where a its unclear if the ball has crossed the line, not penalties or sendings off

It wont take long to set up, technically they could make some alterations and have goal line set up for the Euro's.

Just stick a tiny tiny little camera in both the corners where the post meets the bar. If it's right it the corner, it would be impossible for the ball to touch it.

i have often thought they do not want to sort out the whole diving, handball ect. too much work.
the only think they want to sort out is the goal line technology.
Goals mean more entertainment and this means more sponsors.
allowing players the right to go down if another player comes within ten yards was a mistake. bale and lennon do this every game.

    This^^^
If you want to get rid of dirty play and cheating, it's pointless relying on human eyes. The FA can retrospectively punish stuff already (e,g,Bardley's stamp on Mata) so why not punish diving, shirtpulling and all that cheating, by giving serious bans to the players that do it all the time. (I'm looking at you Suarez). Refs take a lot of stick, but if players stopped doing it, we would all see the benefit.

Assuming goal-line technologhy comes in. How long before Wenger/Dalglish etc complain after conceding "it should have been a goal kick not a corner" or "the foul was outside the box". What about all the other events that affect the flow of the game ? Where do we draw the line (no pun intended) ?
