    itll be a thankless task at times mate but very rewarding in others seeing the bairns develop, keep things simple and ya cant go wrong really..

    Good luck mate, I used to coach as young as 5 year olds and was far more difficult than coaching the older kids (13-16). You've got the right idea if you want to prioritise the kids enjoying themselves rather than focus purely on winning. As others have said get your activity set up before they arrive and make sure all the kids have a ball. If you can get them comfortable with the ball that's the key thing at that age and everything else can come later. I never played any games higher than 3v3 in training at that age. That gives them an understanding of movement and creating space without being too technical. They can apply that in a macth without being pinned down to team shape and rigid positions.
