2 to 3 pages maximum give plenty of detail about your previous roles and make things stand out that would apply to the role you are going for, i learnt the hard way as my CV used to be about 8-9 pages long becuase of the amount of roles i had had.

talked to lots of recruitment agencies and they all told me to shorten that shit

I've been working since 1978 and have had 14 jobs in that time. My CV is 2 pages long.

I only include my last six or seven roles (the ones that are relevant to what I do now) with 3 or 4 bullet points showing my achievements in each role.

After that I use the line "Previous experience includes Sales and Management roles in UK manufacturing industry"

If they want to know they'll ask, but anything further back than 15 years is probably irrelevant.

    2 Pages MAX.

If you've got more than that, you've rambled or included stuff that isn't relevant.

Don't list your references, just state "available on request".

If it is more than two pages people will think you are a show-off who is too inept to condense a CV onto the required two pages.

I'd throw in some rogue apostrophe's anarl. Employers love them.
