    Default The Smiths

What a masterpiece that first album is. Morrissey and Marr = pure genius.

Queen is Dead for me fella every time for pure consistency

However, they are one of the few bands for me where every compilation they did offered up at least one interesting track that was only a B-Side or something along those lines. For that reason, Hatful of Hollow, Louder than Bombs and The World Wont Listen are the ultimate Smiths albums to own.

The strange thing is that everyone of their albums are perfect and The Queen is Dead is probably my favourite too. The guitar work on the title track is fantastic.

They're all amazing. Strangeways is the true work of art though. I try not to be sad about how good anything they would have gone on to do would have been.

I'm a massive Smiths fan although it took me a long while to get into them.

For once Mini's influence was correct

Agreed. It was a strange thing amongst fans of bands where you weren't sneered at for owning the compilations because they were so fucking good as well and contained so much extra stuff.

Meat is Murder was the least accessible album from my point of view as I don't really feel there were any standout tracks. However, from the point of view of consistent output it was lightyears away from being a turkey and I don't know of a single band whose output matches theirs for pure consistent brilliance.

I was at two out of the last three gigs they performed. I was a huge fan. They were incredible at the GMex festival. Morrissey with his Queen is Dead banner will live with me forever. Marr was just in a different stratosphere when it came to the guitar, a totally new style of playing. Still gote piece of Morrisseys shirt that is the centerfold pic on Rank.
