Bramble has been so much better than I though he'd be. Thought he was particularly impressive with Turner last autumn and Brown this winter. But he has missed the better part of the past two seasons through injury, and adding his... off-pitch, erm, proclivities to the mix, it may be that MON cuts his losses.

But then again, if Brown and O'Shea are also highly susceptible to injury (and recent history suggests they are) having extra cover in defence is advisable.

Yawn. The gist of this story is that we'll sell a few players in the summer and buy a few new ones!
You could write that story about any club in any division ffs.
..unless MON is actually going to 'sacrifice' them properly in some kind of weird ritual. In that case it should be front page news.

I just cannot see how we could sign a better left back - so the only way we'd sell him is if a bigger club came in and the lad asked to be allowed to move.

If he played for a top 6 side, he'd be on the fringes of the England squad at the moment.

Fair play to all those who said all he needed was a run of 10+ games as a left back to see how he developed. Proved right.

Seen this from James Nursey on Twitter who works for The Mirror - Expect Richardson to leave #SAFC in summer. Was reliably told he wanted out in January & he told MO'N. Summer exit = compromise

Recent exchange between James Nursey (Mirror) and Roker Report on Twitter:

    Quote:
Nursey: Daily Mail say #SAFC to sell Kieran Richardson in summer. Backs up my January story he wants out amid #AFC interest.

RR: The ever-reputable "Sportsmail Reporter" says "may sell"... in an article with many holes.

Nursey: expect Richardson to leave #SAFC in summer. Was reliably told he wanted out in January & he told MO'N. Summer exit = compromise
If true (IF!) it's surprising that Richo would want to leave us when we're doing so well.

It makes sense if the lad wants to move back home. He's got a young kid now so might want to be closer to home.

Good luck to him, just make sure we get a fair fee or let him see out the contract he signed.
