    thinking of starting up running, getting a fat cunt (got nowt on Boris yet like) just round the streets, not done much exercise for a couple of years. Any advice on equipment, schedules for a beginner, warm ups warm downs, out else.

    Google running plan for beginners, I found a good one for "running 5K in 8 weeks" - it started with lots of walking and then increases as it says. Probably good if you haven't done any running for ages.

    Equipment? Good shoes, socks, music, keychain thing.

    Seem canny. I ended up going to Dalton Park and got some Asics reduced to £45 from £80.

    Not that I go running often but it's something I'm planning in getting into

    Just good quality cotton ones to absorb any sweat; always worth getting good quality socks for any day/time.

    I've a mate who is a keen runner and he swears by the UnderArmour gear, Could be worthwhile having a look at some of their stuff.
