    I take it porridge is classed as quick oats.
    Porridge is just how you cook it.

    Quick oats are more processed and dont have the same high quality nutrient factor as steel cut or rolled oats and therefore the texture is runnier and has poorer taste.
    Have a look on the packets and they will say steel cut, rolled oats, quick, instant etc.

    I just microwave mine and have it with a few eggs or mustard or protein powder and sweetner.

    One last question. Is it ok to eat them just blended with milk,berries and protein rather than cooked?

    mine say instant oats but i got them from my protein.com

    i think they are the good oats just ground down so you can drink them in shakes?

    Aye, its fine. But the added milk and berries increases the calories a lot. If you are bulking its fine, if cutting I would avoid.

    Just checked my Scotts oats are rolled,just buy them in asda marra.

    Aye mate, it's more for energy, I'll be upping the runs and biking loads this year and I don't really like porridge. Thanks.

    Oats are low GI carbs and a relatively cheap form of energy
    Also they are quick so you just whack them in a protein shake if you haven't got time to make and eat a proper breakfast on a morning.
