    Wasn't it open in the late 70's too? I remember going to a wave pool with me dad somewhere in Sunderland, but no idea what it was called.

    Ah yes. I remember idly lazing about in the shallows and letting the waves just push me gently up towards the edge.

    And then accidentally backwards headbutting the small child sitting innocently behind me square in the face, much to his distress and the chagrin of his Father.

    Whitley Bay was the first one I went to. c 1972?

    Loved it in the 90s.

    Went on holiday before (one of those weird spanish places with waterparks. Can't remember where though, I was young) and the wave machine there was deadly. Seriously deadly.

    Aye that about right, it and Billingham Forum were around before crowtree. know Crowtree opened around 1976.
