Default any xbmc experts on here ?

long shot i know been messing about with this today and i like the layout but i'm having a problem with album thumbnails.when xbmc scanned my music collection it grabbed the thumbnails from the net but a lot of them are quite low quality.

i have the album art for all my albums in much higher quality and am able to choose those instead but it's going to take fecking ages doing it one by one.

also i'm having problems with certain albums. when i'm choosing a better photo, when i select image it brings up a menu with a choice of albums none of which are the album i'm dealing with.

so is there a way i can just mass select xmbc to use the photo contained within the album folder or is there a better way to get het higher res album art by scraping the web.

any help gratefully recieved though i won't hold my breath

XBMC Media Center (formerly Xbox Media Center) is a free and open source cross-platform digital media hub and HTPC (Home theater PC) software with a 10-foot user interface designed to be a media player for the living-room TV. Its graphical user interface (GUI) allows the user to easily manage video, photos, podcasts, and music from a computer, optical disc, local network, and the internet using a remote control

I never found the answer to this either. In the end I just manually updated albums here and now when I played them. There really needs to be an automated tagger for albums in the same way there is for videos. Use Ember Media Manager for my films and TV shows and it's brilliant, but there's nothing remotely similar for MP3's.

Run them through tag and rename first.

i also dabbled with boxee and by default it used all my own album art which was great, but didn't quite like the interface as much as xbmc.

anyway i've removed my music and unclicked enable tag reading in the settings, added my music again and it seems to have used my album art but frustratingly some albums still have poor quality album art which i'm unable to change manually.

used that for all my albums.i don't know why you just can't choose a certain jpeg and that's that, unless i'm missing something.

You can. Just select all the mp3s you want and then select the jpg you want them to have, along with folder art

I take it each album is in its own folder ?

yeah....i know how to use tag and rename it's the quirks of xbmc that on certain albums the album art is coming up as low quality.when you go to change the jpeg on xbmc the next step brings up a selection of albums it could be....if the album you require isn't there you have to name it manually.....when you do this the album art remains the same low quality (this is only happening on a hand full of albums but it's pissing me off and i'm not letting it lie )
