Default Sports Personality of the Year

Starting a new thread as the most recent one I could find had digressed somewhat. Anyway, just started now - Cav to win hopefully... Murray can't be arsed being there. And, Khan's nomination may have been a tad premature.

Four grand slam semis in a year (only the seventh person ever to do that).

When it was 'Sports review of the year' it was one of the highlights of the television year with a full review of the sporting year with a couple of awards tagged on.

Nowadays its fucking shite with most just pointless aimless chat with way to much emphasis put on the awards and naming them phone numbers to phone.

Also should go back to a panel of experts instead of the phone vote, then so of the lesser sports people might get a look.

To be fair, the 10 on the shortlist come from a poll of sports journalists, who should be experts (but in practice probably aren't).

    Agreed about the show though...

He won't - it'll be one of Cavendish, McIlroy, Clarke and Farah.
