Can certainly pass and control... He was pinging the ball around like Beckham at half time

Now we just have to get a striker in the box, and hope MON can help him create that in match conditions

I was honestly surprised how comfortable he was with the ball

Maybe so. But it's no good when he drops his arse anytime someone comes near him on the pitch.

His confidence is an issue and once he learns to be brave instead of soft as fuck, he will do alright.

he's only 22 and built like a real unit, as proved by constantly winning it the air. i think mon will be able to make a really good player out of him, he has tons of promise

As is typical of Sunderland supporters, the concept of a lad taking a season or two to find his feet is completely unheard of and completely unforgivable.

For all he's an uninspiring substitution, in games where we're in danger of losing a lead towards the final 20 mins he gives us a good option to pin the opposition back up field. He's predictable, but he's direct and it takes a while for full-backs to work out that he's not all that good.

Not a hider either, and that goes a long way with me.

to be honest, i think he was one of our best players until 'that game'. dropped after that along with steed when they had been our two best creaters.

i think hes canny. fucking quick, always able to beat his man, great in the air, its not like hes the only player to be too quick to keep his end product consistant, look at walcott until recently, lennon, SWP etc etc i think he looks a really useful squad member.

i wouldnt be afraid of starting a game with a midfield or elmo - colback - vaughan - larsson and its uncanny to think that it cost us 2m.
although larsson - colback - vaughan - mcclean was under a million.

    Bruce in!

Useful squad player who didn't cost much. Seems to be a confidence player. If anyone is going to get something out of him, its a manager like O'Neill.

Let's face it he's been woeful for the majority of his games for us.

I'm always amused by the way the subs at the SOL can ping it around etc then turn out to be cack when they come into the game.

The are pro footballers, they should be able to knock it about effortlessly when warming up.

    Bite.

I'd love to be wrong but he hasn't got enough in his locker to make it imo. Aye he's quick and can win a ball in the air, but he also shows a very limited Football brain on the pitch.
