    Default Small business software

Has anyone got any recommendations for software to help run a small business? My daughter (no) has recently started her own business and I want to get her some software to help with orders, invoices, accounts, stock control etc.

I haven't a clue where to start looking. Anyone help?

    Thanks

    Google Apps - http://www.google.com/apps/intl/en/business/index.html

Quickbooks can be downloaded free. I'll leave it to others to say if its any good or not.

Quick books is awful. Sage all day. Bank will probs do her a deal when she signs up so tell her to look around.

We use http://www.sageone.com/ as we run macs. But plenty of options.

Quickbooks is good to start on if you are new to the world of business. Sage is cracking the nut with a sledge hammer for new businesses.

Don't go anywhere near quickbooks sage every time. Accountants will also offer a discount. Instant plus good enough as a starter.

I employer a freelance bookeeper to enter invoices and do the VAT and end of year returns, he uses both Sage and quickbooks for different businesses and says that for larger businesses sage has the edge but quickbooks does some things that sage doesnt. i use sage it serves my purpose well
