    Default Quinny marginalised ?

Doesn't look that way to me. He clearly still has an influence around the place, and would appear to be an integral part of Ellis's plans.

    Or a meringue ?

I personally think that the firing of Bruce was not really anticipated to be so soon after Quinn's transition into his new and reduced role and he has therefore been requested to act in his old role to assist Mr Short in seeing a new management team into the club.

Wasn't it suggested (in places) that the reason for Quinn moving sideways was that the Bruce sacking was inevitable, and he didn't want to be seen to be part of it?

It wouldn't matter a jot to me or I guess the majority of Sunderland fans if the team was successful. If we do make big strides then that should be welcomed by Quinn and anyone else who cares about our club.

O'Neill would definitely be Quinn's appointment. Short, from what I have read, favoured Hughes. Let's hope the big man is on the money.

How do we know this has anything to do with Quinn? That's a genuine question, I haven't seen it suggested anywhere.

I think Niall got a job with the club that allows him to look after his personal interests at the same time - and if so, good for him.

I'm just pleased he's still involved with the club, and I look forward to his TV appeal to get behind the new manager by buying 1/2 ST cards for Xmas.

(I'm not taking the piss here)

Don't underestimate the role Sir Niall has in our glorious club!.......and never forget it either, just how important 'big man' is to the club and the area. He is a Hero and a true true legend!

It has been reported in the press that NQ favoured MON.

Can't remember where exactly - have seen so many articles on it.
