Dunno how accurate it is, but I was once told that when a depressed person resolves to end their own life, they often seem happy and relaxed in the days leading up to it as they finally see an end to their troubles.
Absolute tragic illness.

I find that chilling to be honest. My sister was diagnosed with depression earlier this year and I myself suffer from anxiety.
