    Default Bendtner in opposition box

At half term i said to my lad, "lets count how many times bendtner touches the ball in the opposition box"
At the end of the game, he didnt touch the ball once.
This is our problem, nobody in their box to get on the end of those crosses.
With 1 striker up front, we are never going to score enough goals to win games.

He plays as a weird cross between an old-fashioned English number nine (without the goals) and an old-fashioned continental number 10, either holding the ball up for his non-existent strike partner, or dropping deep to pick the ball up from his non-existent midfield support.

Either way, he's not a goalscorer. Never has been, never will be.

For a big bloke, Bendtner was constantly out jumped by smaller players. Beginning to think the bloke has the heart the size of a pea and no desire to do well for Sunderland.

He does lots of dropping back and passing the ball backwards 3 yards to someone else. I could do that.

His movement in the opposition box is poor. Not once did he try to get in front of his man at the near post when that's where the balls were coming. He was usually just having a bit wander about between two defenders offering nothing.

    He didn't look arsed today.

No doubt he's a very good player, but he'll need to pull his finger out jdging by his last two games, cos he's been shite.

thought he was the new winger, would rather have had their lad up front - put in a proper shift

Looked good with the ball on the left and running with it, dont think he's got the desire (or even the desire for us) to go in where it hurts for us. Thought he'd be quality too, but beginning to look like a mistake.

Looked like a donkey a while back, but seems to have toned up and lost some weight and grafted really hard today. Was unlucky a couple of things didnt come off for him too as he was nearly on the end of things.

Tactically we're not using him properly (not when he's our only striker anyway) but regardless he was awful today, his touch was woeful and the one shot I remember (second half) after he did a decent turn and run was shite.

He needs to get in the box and stay in the box. IIRC Larsson put a great ball in early on and he was fannying about outside the box instead of being in there getting a header on goal.
