    Default Arab investment at Sunderland...

I've been pondering as to why the club let Gyan leave to play in the UAE.

I'm fully aware that this isnt the first time it has been mentioned but it would make so much sense if our reasoning for letting him go to Al-Ain was as part of an investment deal with their president, the crown prince of Abu Dhabi.

That is what I'm hoping for, anyway. It's the only thing we have to hold on to with regards to that deal, really.

God, imagine having the money that Man City have to spend at Sunderland...

We let him go as he didn't want to be here and they offered a world record amount for a loan fee

for most teams 2-0 down only means that any time soon they will equalise. It is to be expected. Not for Sunderland. We can barely come back once 1-0 down. But we did equalise.

Tbh, I have a big enough problem relating to the rentboys that currently make up our team . A more expensive rentboy is not going to make it any better.
Objectively I like what they've done at Man City and I'm glad they're in our league and I enjoy watching them . This Man City certainly give me far more enjoyment than any previous Man Citys but I'd be reluctant to embrace that model for us.
I have high hopes for Niall understanding the importance of some sort of link between the players and the supporters and some degree of localism but maybe it's just too hard to bring about.
Ideally, if Sunderland belonged to me I'd like to operate on an Atletico Bilbao model except with Co Durham instead of the Basque country . It's probably illegal and discriminatory and we'd be Div One in record time....

The next investment in the club will come from South Korea.
