Costs have had to be cut and that will obviously mean the standard of the team is going to drop, we were never going to have the means to realistically compete with the top 6 on a regular basis

This is what we are, a mid-table PL team. A team that one year may finish 8th or so and then maybe finish 14-15th another

Villa and Everton have tried to make that leap into the top 6 or so and found they cant sustain over a long period. Along we them and a few other teams we are they to make up the numbers

When we had the likes of Muntari, Bent, Gyan, Welbeck, Henderson, a few more quality additions could have probably pushed us into a position of at least having a go at top 4.

You need a reality check fella.

Since 1997 we have been on our arse. Up and down the league worst team in the premiership then we beat that title again. All this going on while our 2 closest rivals were getting into Europe and achieving very good league positions. So for a club to still be attracting anywhere near 40k is amazing.
