HDMI Lappy to my Telly

Lost sat signal on my telly due to the thunderstorm we are having down here today so I am watching it on BBCi player, anyway how do I make the picture bigger on my telly? I have set the telly screen size to max but still only about 50% of picture showing.

Have you checked the resolution you've set for your TV on the Laptop? One the Laptop go to Control Panel\Appearance\Display\ Screen Resolution and you should have 2 screens, check that the second screen is set to the right resolution.

Try changing the resolution on the laptop to 1280 x 720, unlike VGA, HDMI is trying to match the Laptop resolution to the TV.

If it's only showing one display on your Laptop then my guess is it's set to clone dual display, which will cause problems as the resolution set for your Laptop will not be suitable for a TV.

Some Laptops use an Intel grpahics card so it might be worth you looking at this, it might help:
