11 a side
starting a team, an impossible dream? Understand the hassle/cost, but wondering if it's plausible if we were to get someone willing to sponsor? (could ask Wilfy to have a word with the Vaults ).
Me and a couple of others really fancy it next season, although I'm sceptical as to whether we could get a squad of 15. Based on the 7 a side, I think we could compete with the basis of that quad plus some new additions. (This is not just me getting carried away after a win, I'd like to add!).
Dunno, if people were interested in doing this I'd certainly start looking into it seriously.

I know you've mentioned costs but do you know your looking at a good £500 at least start up costs?
Without very good financial backing it can be really expensive mate.
Then again if 15 players pay £20 each then sponsor it can be plausible.
Your underestimating how much hassle it is aswell Marra
Hav a word with deodorant2 im sure he started a team up this year.

My uncle John has managed sunday league, so I know how much shite it entails but I'd love to give it a go.
I just don't know if I could build up a squad, you're unavailable sundays so we'd have a starting point
GK Pacific (if he'd be okay going in full sized goals?)
RB Venkman
CB Tom
CB ??
LB Technofish
RM ??
CM Mackem00
CM Martin
LM Whitey
ST ??
ST ??
+ reserves. would advertise locally and in football echo for players. This is providing all the above would fancy it/could make it due to work/drinking commitments.
Wilfy as manager.

Don't we need to wait until your grazed knee heals up before making such a committment mate? That's if it ever heals up.

Seriously though, providing it was a weekend (which it surely would be?) then I'd definitely be up for it. As long as techno promises not to give me another dead leg

well, I've been putting a brave face on it...but after being sent to A&E this afternoon and a long consultation I've been advised I have a 70/30 chance of losing my entire leg. I will however put myself forward for selection, to keep up the numbers, regardless of the outcome. I'm really upset about this, understandably, so a little understanding in this difficult time would go a long way.

I know you can get grants off the council to help with start up cost's and everything. The stress and hassle involved is a reet nightmare aswell. But iek ya said ya uncle runs one so that will be a major boost.
Should try getting a few 11-a-side games together first off and see what's what.
Why dont you get 11 of your players, n al get 11 of mine for a friendly?
Can you do 11-a-side at kev's school?
I noticed there is an awesome 11-a-side pitch behind farringdon mcdonalds

that's definitely the plan like, see if I can get a team together - then play random friendlies and see if we feel as though we can make a go of it. hopefully arrange a game soon.

well you've got ages until a new season starts before you could actually get games if you are granted entry so plenty of friendlys n that before hand will help get a good squad together.
how about sunday the 27th? 3pm?
reason is I say 3pm is if kev 's pitch isn't able to accom 11-a-side and then that silky/farringdon pitch wont be free on the morning
05:00 PM..

Re: 11 a side
I wouldn't mind playing some 11 aside to see how it goes like so count me in Venk, 27th is good for me aslong as my ankle is healed by then.
