Default A lots been said about the proposed moving of away fans

and the impact it will have on atmosphere.

anyone think that the stadium design has a lot to answer for. if you couldnt move freely around the stadium do you think this would effect the atmosphere?
i know loads of people (myself included) who buy a cheaper season ticket, knowing they can go sit almost anywhere in the ground. if the stands were isolated do you think it would change the atmosphere, as people would only be able to move about the stand there in?

I think performances on the pitch have a lot to answer for. Good performances and a good league position = stadium more full = can't move around.

Atmosphere has also taken a hit due to being all seater, more family friendly and stricter stewarding.

Not always, I think that's a bit rose spectacles. See the rest of my post with regards to the overall worsening of atmosphere. Roker was mainly all standing, stewarding was far less authoritarian and the stands were closer to the pitch. All this contributed to a better atmosphere.

With a successful side the atmosphere can be good at the SoL though

There have been times when the noise at the SOL has been deafening.
Start playing exciting attacking football and the atmosphere and noise levels and atmosphere will soon lift.

...I find this strange ...I sit with my son in the North East concessionary corner and wouldn't dream of not sitting there for every game. ...(Might have a different seat for a cup match but how many of those do we have?!)

Each to his own I guess....

well weve got a seat in a concession area, due to taking a u16, but we go sit with friends in an area that doesnt offer a concession price.
loads of kids get cheap tickets and just go to as near to the swc as they can get.
