'Mates' who don't bother with you when they get a lass

Anyone got any 'mates' like this?

I use the term loosely because true mates won't bail on their mates as soon as they have a new lass on the go.

One of my 'mates', who I've known since school has got a new lass (No pics sorry, I don't even know what she looks like) who he met at work (shitting on your doorstep). Since he started seeing this lass (about 2 month ago) I haven't heard a squeak from him and he's someone I hear from regularly and we often meet up for a few pints and watch the footy etc. I'm considering washing my hands of him, because seriously who needs spineless 'mates' like this?

There's a few lads I've known like this and they all seem to be a certain 'type' i.e. pussy whipped, beta males who rarely have a lass but as soon as they do you don't hear from them until they've been sent packing with their tail between their legs (probably for being a pushover).

The lads I've noticed who don't change when they get a lass on the go tend to be the more outgoing alpha type who are confident and comfortable in their own skin. I'd say I was more like the latter

I can't understand why you would change for a lass. If anything, when I'm seeing someone I tend to see my mates more often because I love my freedom.
