Default Are there good sites for downloading work related books (for free!)?

I'm sure someone had a good link before. Basically, I've managed to get through a PQQ for a job for a council and the tender asks that, instead of pricing the work, we just advise them of an addition/ subtraction percentage to the rates as per the National Schedule of Rates 2011/12. This sounded easy enough until I noticed that they specify the rates in both Building Work 1 and 2 and Electrical Works in Buildings. I looked to find the rates and the books are about £300 each and I'm rather hoping we can see what the rates are without having to spend £900 for the privilege. I'm not really anywhere near a library that would stock these so I thought I'd best check on here first in case theres an easy way to see the rates!

    Sorry, nothing useful coming up.

Can usually get them just via google by adding "pdf" to the end.

Lots of hits for the first one - but its a newsletter about the new version coming out.

Cheers for checking anyway mate. Aye its a bit of a pain. There's bound to be some sort of reference type library around but I was hoping to avoid spending a day out of the office! Oh well, a day out will be cheaper than buying the things for about £1000 so I guess I'll just have to do that then!

well, we're only a small electrical contractor (turnover of about 1.5m) and we've never had to price work off the schedule of rates before- not really worth spending £1000 on it when the vast majority of jobs are just hourly rates or priced off BoQ's tbh. The other trouble is we do solar pv and because of the FiT changing we've got shit loads of work to organise at the minute (which will all stop come december most likely!) so I was hoping not to have to go and find a library! But yes, I'm not the most professional commercial manager in the world, but then that much is obvious from the fact i post on here all day instead of getting any work done Its just typical that when I actually get busy and have to do some work, I'll need to skive out of the office- normally I'd be chuffed to bits to spend a day away from the place. Oh well!
