Default Bruce lets Villa off the hook

Another flagrant example of his failure to capitalise with a potentially easy win. Why does he let things go beyond the limit before enforcing the substitution? The whole crowd could see it as could any other manager at this level but Steve chooses to wait for the goal to go in and then make the change. Vaughan for all his virtues had been blowing out oh his arse for fifteen miniutes prior to the goal and we were being overrun needlessly. But I'm sure it's just another one of his blips.
Villa were there for the taking.

Two forced subs in the first half - hardly fair.

Going 4-5-1 when drawing at home to a poor villa side. Totally surrendered any momentum. Putting his centre forward left wing. Allowing the team to sit so deep inviting them to score.

That game was there for the taking he contributed massively to us failing to win today.

Gives the lad some game time as he gets back to fitness, I guess. Gardner would probably have been a more positive midfield sub though.

To be fair, as UaeExile says, two enforced substitutions limited the options we had somewhat.

Steve's favourite holding job in midfield. He should have been on ten minutes earlier.

Aye the fact he only had 1 substitute to do anything about the game means nowt does it? He probably didn't want to make a tactical substitution to early I case we picked up another injury and then be forced to play with 10 men for the remainder.
What he did do was switch sees and Conner round which changed it a bit.
I'm not the biggest Bruce fan but to have a go about his substitutions today is rediculous!
