    Default Team GB?

Not sure if this has been discussed but what do you think of a Team GB Football team for the Olympics?

Personally I don't have a problem with it. My Dad's from Northern Ireland, my mum's from Scotland and I was born and raised in Sunderland so I support England, much to my parents dismay. I think it would be good to get a bit of a mix of players. Obviously there would be a few more English players in there, even solely for the reason that there is a far bigger population in England (not to mention quality of selection) but that aside you could put together a fairly competitive team of players from all four nations. The Scottish, Welsh and Irish FA's seem to have an issue but "won't stop any player from playing". Gareth Bale has even posed in a supports top.

    Any thoughts?

would be very suprised if any scots take part in a GB team, think the SFA have warned them if they play it might stop them playing for scotland again.

totally for it- as long as long as we have independent football teams for all other competitions
we should just think about them the same way we do the British and Irish Lions in rugby

It was just the Welsh FA that came out with that. I don't get it though. I mean I understand they want to stay autonomous but surely 5-6 players mostly under 23 or whatever, it is isn't going to somehow allow the English FA to invade Scotland and begin culling the locals.

scottish football is dying on its arse atm
St Johnstone cant even tempt a manger from the irish leagues

Celtic and Rangers are looking for a way to jump ship

and tbf there arent 4 or 5 scottish players who could get into the squad
cant think of a single scottish u21 where there isnt at least two better english players in that position

Id love it to be made up of players not in the top flight or maybe those without a full cap for their country. Might calm the other fas down if they limit it to players that dont have a full cap or something along those lines. Infact i think it would be great like that, infact it should be even non pros.
