Default Shame christmas isnt as good as a grown up

As an adult and having a reasonable amount of money I dont really want/need as much as I did as a young'n. I remember years ago that a computer, tv, video games etc for christmas would make me almost physically sick with excitement. Nowadays we all buy computer games as soon as they are released, stick a tv or whatever straight onto a storecard etc.

Dont get me wrong, I still love the time of year but just a shame that on christmas eve I dont get that immense exitement anymore.

Aye, its a shame you cant recapture that feeling. The nearest I get to it now is the build up to the derby, tragically enough. Different if you have younguns like, you could sort of share in their excitement, it wouldnt be quite the same but itd be mint- hiding presents and all that kind of thing. But if you dont have kids its a bit shit.

Three ways to make it better:

    1) become a Christian
    2) don't buy yourself anything you want from October onwards, then replicate the present splurge on the big day itself. You may have to wrap presents up for yourself, mind.
    3) have small kids. Then you can start it all over again.

Otherwise, why on earth should it be so exciting?

I love it, the cold weather, the family get togethers, decorating the tree, the food, the drink. Brilliant.

Best time of the year for me - I still believe in Santa!

No seriously - I love Chrimbo... As one of the posters says, once you have kids it's starts again...

    Really excited again this year...
