Bruce in, just.

Not been much of a Bruce outer, but I am certainly weighing it up this morning.

We maybe deserved a point and came away with none, but what did we have to lose yesterday?
Would our situation have worsened if we'd had more of a go (imo the two kids upfront and drop sess to the wing), and Arsenal had come good and put a few past us?

Yesterday was pretty local for me, but generally despite having a season ticket, i've struggled to get to most home games this last year, balancing family commitments and finances etc.

Obviousely not a true supporter etc. what ever you want to level at me but my point is its becoming really easy to avoid.
It can't be the results because as Bruce correctly states we finished 10th.
It can't be the players because I believe this is the best collective squad in my lifetime.
Bruce's tenure has just become boring and negative, we approach each game set up to be tight and difficult to break down (worked well yesterday.. for 29s), little to no attacking threat through this bad run (Jan '11 to present), even when he's playing Sessengon, Gyan or Bendtner who are all good attacking players.. neither really look comfortable in any of his systems.

Bruce has done a good job, and can maybe count himself unlucky regards last year, injuries, the bent saga, welbeck going off the boil, probably cost him a great season.

What he offers us now is stability, he's signed so many players he needs time to work out his best team and maybe as he's theatened to over the last couple of windows, add 1 or 2 quality players without a mass overhaul. Someone else coming in now would cost the club a fortune. Bruce's pay-off, significant transfer activity etc.

I think on the whole Bruce is still best for the club, but i'm not looking forward to watching the duration of this season. Apologies for the ramblings.

anybody still backing bruce after his recent conduct needs to evaluate who they really support, the club or steve bruce

It's not even the best squad in the last year, never mind 50 years. There is actually very little quality in the team and seeing as the manager has brought all of these players in the buck stops with him.

In fact, he's only doing with us what he's always done.

He steadied the ship but has then turned round and blasted great big holes in it!

2) Exactly, so why not go for it against one of the worst defences in the league.

Take off the blinkers. Have a look around, Bruce has got rid of our best footballers and replaced with ageing Man Utd players, who look to be past it (Fergie is no fool), relegated players, very young, untried, untested players for key positions where again he has sold three of our best and most experienced players in Jones, Bent and Gyan. He has, in truth, made a complete hash of things and the niave, like yourself are hoping for some miracle to happen and that he will turn things around. Three home wins since 18th December 2010 tell me that he is incapable of doing that.

I haven't discussed tactics except to say, what tactics?
Bruce is the manager, football is a results driven business, wake up, we are fourth bottom and headed only in one direction. If he survives a defeat at Bolton, then Short wants his head testing.

Absolutely no pace and width in the team (so are no threat on the break) - oh, and no invention (so no threat when have a bit of possession)

On what planet did we deserve a bloody point? They had over 4 times as many corners, they had 2.5 times more shots than we did, they had in excess of 60% of the possession, more than double the efforts we did on target. We were well and truly beaten and very much deserved to be so. Apart from a 10 minute spell after we scored we were once again fucking awful at the back and toothless up front.
