    Default Lindisfarne Roundabout

What a fucking joke, the traffic lights at Lindisfarne are currently allowing 7 seconds before they turn red, 7 fucking seconds, meaning a massive tail back in both directions of a morning. A right fuck on wether you travel through Newcastle or through the tunnel.

It's added an extra 10-15 to my journey on a morning, it was fine last week, whoever decided this deserves sacking.

    It was the same yesterday.

It's on every traffic bulletin on the radio, yet 24 hours later fuck all has been done about it. Thankfully I use the traffic on google maps so I was able to divert to the A19 Testo's roundabout and back up the A19 onto Lindisfarne with no Q on the slip road. The Q on the A194 was as far back as Fellgate yesterday and the top of the John Reid road up to 8pm.

I've just checked the maps and they Q's are still there now at 10.30 when there should be nothing. Someone deserves a bloody good kicking for allowing this to continue.

I was off work yesterday so didn't check, my mate warned me but since I started work at 10 today I didn't think it would affect me, got there and traffic was tailed back beyong Tesco at Simonside!

Almost made me late and theres generally no traffic when I leave for work to start at 10, so I leave a little later.

If you go via church bank round, down the A19 and then go round Lindisfarne Roundabout, my mate said thats much quicker for going through the tunnel.

Aye it is, I noticed last night that there was no traffic coming through the lights from the A19 from the Tunnel.

Try sending an email to highways@southtyneside.go v.uk

Is it worth it? I mean surely someone at South Tyneside Council has got to know about already? Like you mention its been on all of the bulletins on the radio. Someone should lose their job over that mind, if I made such a cock up at my place I'd be out.

But having them change every 14 seconds would surely have the same affect? You'd get a few more cars through, but you'd also get another 7 seconds worth of cars building up on the other side.

It's 7 seconds which allows about 3 cars through, then they go to red for about 14 seconds to allow traffic from the A19 to come through yet there's very little traffic coming off the A19.

7 Seconds is pathetic because some people take about 3-4 seconds to pull away after the lights go green. The priority should be the A194 traffic.

Exactly this. I don't understand why it has changed, it was fine how it was. The A194 has the most traffic so should be priority.

It's a joke! Whitemare Pool eventually gets sorted out and then this happens! I was late for work yesterday because of all the traffic, and had to leave 15 minutes earlier this morning and was still stuck in it for bloody ages.
