    Default Frustrating manager

We've played some of our best football against the big teams under Bruce. We've gone to places like White Heart Lane, Old Trafford and Stamford Bridge and taken them on. We never did that under Reid or any other manager in recent memory.

Yet, under Bruce, time and time again we under-perform and under-achieve. It's this paradox that I find so frustrating. We've seen glimses of real quality, only to have our hopes dashed. I really thought he might come good but I am starting to doubt it.

There you go. Nowt new. Just my internal dialogue.

yeah well consistency normally leads to a top 6 finish which is a bit beyond us. Some people assume we should comfortably beat lesser teams (like Norwich) and surrender before playing the better teams. Football isn't that straight forward. The reality is that we will have a mixture of good and bad games this season no matter who the opposition are.

Thats the thing. On a good day we can take on almost anyone and play some great stuff. But then as you say there is a lack of consistency and under Bruce there is a tendancy to go on extremely bad runs.

Every team outside Chelsea, Man U and Man C, will have some very good days and some very bad days this season. Just look at Arsenal and Liverpool's seasons already.
